Fried Bananas

Fried bananas are a recipe with roots in Southeast Asian, Caribbean, and Latin American cuisines, where fruit is often paired with frying techniques. Bananas or plantains are sliced and coated lightly with flour, sugar, or batter before frying, creating a caramelized exterior while preserving the fruit’s natural sweetness.

The technique involves heating oil until hot, then quickly frying the bananas until golden and crisp at the edges. Variations may use butter for pan-frying or add spices like cinnamon for aroma. This preparation highlights the adaptability of bananas, transforming a staple fruit into a textured, cooked component.
